Living the San Francisco Dream

Wordless Wednesday - if little houses could talk....

bird house in gnarly SF treeA favorite activity of ours when the evening daylight is long is to walk for a couple of hours in various neighborhoods in San Francisco. One such evening walk took us up Billy Goat Hill and along neighborhood streets before we headed back down to Noe Valley and dinner.

I was quite charmed by this little house and gnarly tree -- don't you want to make up some amazing stories set here?

Both of my parents were good story tellers, and I expect they would have come up with some lovely adventure tales set here.

What an awesome tree Lottie.  A guy in MPLS has created a little hobbit house in a local park  in of a tree that looks kind of like this one. Years later, to this day nobody knows who somehow manages to move things in and out of the little hobbit hole at the bottom of tree. He leaves notes from the hobbit and kids ask the hobbit things and of course he answers them! Of course kids of all ages love that hobbit tree journey!

That tree looks straight out of a Lord of the Rings movie. Very cool & love how they placed the bird house in the perfect spot.

Hi Anna Banana Kruchten, CRS - I'm with Kathy Streib - write a post about your hobbit tree. We have a similar-sounding one in Golden Gate Park--I'll try to remember and send you the post I wrote about it.

San Francisco is a great walking city -- especially if you like hills and staircases, Kathy Streib

That is a pretty cool tree and the perfect spot for a bird house.  Bet the birds love that tree.

I enjoyed "discovering" this tree on our evening walk. The bird house looked like it was a part of the tree, so naturally positioned.
