Adventures with Tanner, the San Francisco House Guest

While Rachael is on vacation, we have a house guest, our grand-dog, Tanner. This is an interesting experience for us since we both work full time and don't have any pets of our own. Tanner certainly fills our small condo and is creating new routines for us.

Tanner joined our household Sunday evening. Here's how things have gone the first part of the week:

Tanner at Fort Mason

Monday: an early evening walk to Ft. Mason to spend a bit of time at my community garden plot. Tanner slept well after the 3-mile round trip jaunt.

Tanner at Lafayette ParkTuesday: a busy work day for both of us, so adventures limited to quick walks during the day, with time in the evening for a visit to nearby Lafayette Park.

Tanner at Alta PlazaWednesday: a nice City walk mid-day, with time to romp and roll around on the grass at Alta Plaza, high atop Pacific Heights.

Tanner.LittleFreeLibraryThursday: another day with time for a long lunch-break for me and a walk along Jackson Street in Pacific Heights to drop off and borrow books at my favorite mini free library. Doesn't Tanner look studious??

I'll be posting more Adventures with Tanner another day so check back again to see what else he's been up to the rest of the week

--- Come for a visit; Stay for a lifetime!

I don't think Tanner is going to want to go home after all the fun.

OH my gosh, that is one happy dog, Lottie!  As Linda Blumenthal said, Tanner's not going to want to go home after touring San Francisco with his grandparents!

Have fun and enjoy your time together, Lottie!

Hi Linda Blumenthal - I suspect Tanner will pout to "punish" Rachael for leaving him--then will love her to pieces!

Debe Maxwell, CRS - we're enjoying Tanner, and he does a great job of getting me away from my computer! Luckily Gene works from home 3 days a week and I work here a lot, too, so all pieces fit together well.

Good afternoon Lottie - Isn't it great to have grand dogs.  I love ours but like grandchildren we can turn them back to their parents.

Lottie-Golden Retrievers are such happy and friendly dogs. You are giving Tanner lots of love and exercise while his Mom is enjoying a great vacation

Lottie- I'm not sure that Rachael will be getting Tanner back! Love the photo of Tanner at the mini free library, and can't wait for more photos.

Noticing your husband wearing a jacket. It was too hot to even go outside yesterday in Sacramento. We were planning to walk to the Farmer's Market in the morning, but it was too danged hot at 9 AM.  San Francisco weather looks very appealing right now.

I love any kind of dog, but especially golden retrievers. I think I'd put a sheet over my couch, too, if I had a dog visiting. LOL.

Good morning, Grant Schneider - I'll be ready to sweep and vaccuum up all the dog hair and uncover my couch! Fun having a visitor, but Wednesday evening he'll be back with his Mom.

Hi Sharon Lee  and Anna Banana Kruchten, CRS - that was the plan - an overdue vacation for Rachael and dog adventures for us. It's been fun. 3 days to go!

I thought Tanner looked very studious and eager to read in that picture, Kathy Streib . More pictures in today's post.

Hi Lottie - Tanner is a good looking guy, and he's obviously happy hanging out with you guys - you're doing a great job keeping him busy.
