Christmas caroling in Noe Valley, San Francisco

Yesterday afternoon members of the San Francisco City Chorus added holiday cheer in San Francisco's Noe Valley neighborhood. The Christmas carolers' didn't let a drizzly day or puddles dampen spirits of shoppers or merchants. Adults and children alike would stop for a moment and listen, then go on their way, smiling.

Spreading holiday joy, something our neighborhoods and the SFCC does well. If you live in or near San Francisco and like to sing, check out the San Francisco City Chorus and you could be caroling, too, next year.

Lottie Kendall This is great and something that we rarely see these days of push button gratification. Thanks for sharing!

Oh Lottie that is so touching. I bet you had so much fun as did the people around you.

Hi Sandy Padula and Norm Padula, JD, GRI NMLS#1483386 - the carolers and the shoppers all had fun.

Hi Noah Seidenberg - I did, indeed have fun. While my husband and the other singers caroled, I popped into delightful little stores and got a bit of shopping done. Afterward, several of us patronized a local cafe for dinner. A fun event!

Hi Sybil Campbell - if you have community choruses in your area, perhaps you'd enjoy singing with one. (Then you can get caroling up and running!)

I think people should wander about in groups and sing loudly in public areas all of the time, and not just at Christmastime. Why couldn't we make that an American thing that we do?

Tell you what, Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents - grab a group and start singing! Flash mobs have been quite successful with that.

I wish that I could sing a little better to be a better Christmas caroler. Love and light and Merry Christmas to those celebrating

The chorus is wonderful! All it takes is a few good singers who enjoy what they do and stay committed to the group's efforts. The singers sing with passion! Their good energy transcends like magic!

Hi Laura Cerrano - I don't sing either, but my husband has for most of his life. I enjoy listening and cheering for the group!

Hello Patricia Feager - what nice, cheering words you have for the San Francisco City Chorus. Maybe you'd allow them to put your quote on their web site, or in marketing ?????

Lottie, It is excellent to see folks who are sharing their Holiday music by caroling in the neighborhood.

Hi Robert Bob Gilbert - Gene sings at 4 or 5 of these events each Christmas season - I had fun watching and popping into various neighborhood shops that afternoon. Have you discovered Noe Valley area of SF?

Posted by Lottie Kendall, Helping make your real estate dreams a reality (Compass) over 2 years ago

Gene singing in 4-5 events is very cool. I am not sure exactly where the Noe Valley is located in SF..

the Noe Valley neighborhood is centered on 24th Street and Church, to the south of Dolores Park -- it has become a very popular (and expensive) neighborhood in the last 5 or 6 years.

Hello Roy Kelley - we're back in SF after a few days not too far away from you--Pittsburgh PA. Chilly!!!!

Hi Yolanda Cordova-Gilbert - wishing you and Bob a Merry Christmas and a 2017 that brings joy and happiness to you both -- and maybe a trip to SF!

Hi Nick & Trudy Vandekar - Christmas caroling isn't done much here, either, but the San Francisco City Chorus has 8 or 10 gigs each holiday season. Merchants love the energy and happiness it brings to the neighborhoods.

Lottie, Christmas carolers are really fun, and it's really great if you have some figgy pudding to offer them.

Posted by Patricia Kennedy, Home in the Capital (RLAH Real Estate) over 2 years ago

I don't think any of the Noe Valley neighborhood store owners offered the singers figgy pudding, Patricia Kennedy , but David's Tea had hot tea for shoppers and carolers, and we enjoyed dinner with some of them afterward.
