Living the San Francisco Dream

Looks like spring, but it's October in San Francisco

roses in October in SFCalifornia, including San Francisco, is finally getting some much-needed rain. But not even a rain storm--and it definitely met my definition of a storm!--could daunt the beauty of this doorway on a house on Jackson Street in Presidio Heights.

I thought it quite a unusual sight for mid-October, and actually went up close to check it out. Yes, these are real. Two climbing rose bushes, one on either side of the doorway, with several other vines planted and twined through.

Beauty in the planning and in the execution and maintenance -- this doesn't occur without love and care, just as our businesses don't flourish without attention to detail and the utmost level of care.

Wishing you all beauty amid the rain.

Those roses are so vibrant and healthy looking, one would never guess the picture was taken in October.

Love San Francisco and the coldest I have been there is in April.

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat - I actually had to walk up and examine them closely to be sure they were real - in October, no less! Someone has a superb gardener!

Hi Joe Pryor - and people say we don't have seasons in San Francisco . They are just a bit topsy-turvy perhaps!

Lottie, what a nice way to welcome people and invite them through the door!

Thanks, Harry F. D'Elia

Hi Patricia Kennedy - yes, that arbor of roses and vines leads to the front entryway - very appealing in my book.

I think we got more rain from that last storm!

Happy Monday Lottie Kendall, I hope this is the start of a great week!

That is a gorgeous entry way - I love it!!  Spring in San Fransisco - again!  Soon it will be chilly and you'll be all bundled up. I just talked to a very nice man from San Fran that is buying a home for his Mom in my area - really nice guy.

Lottie, definitely love and attention given to that beautiful entry. Could you please send the rain our way?

that is really pretty.  I love roses.  I was expecting your post to be about weather.  It's October, but still feeling a lot like summer in Georgia.

That is a lovely doorway, Lottie. Then again, I love anything with roses, as they are my favorit flower.

That looks more like May than October. What a blessing to get some much needed rain. May the bloom flourish for a long time to come.

Thanks, Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, Broker, Tacoma Washington - this is a fine week and we loved our rain over the weekend. Wishing you a good week, too.

Good morning, Anna Banana Kruchten - there are lots of great people here in San Francisco--glad you met one of them and can help get the perfect house for his mom.

Hi Gita Bantwal - it is a pretty doorway!

Good morning Yolanda Cordova-Gilbert - I'm glad you enjoyed the picture. I've often thought of taking just door shots, or window shots, or gates, on some of my walks. I might just do that one of these days.

Donna Foerster - our rain has ended, with clear, warm sunny days forecast for this week. Maybe--just maybe--the storm door has been opened for all of us; let's hope!

Hi Tammy Lankford, our much needed rain has ended, and we're back to warm summery days this week. Maybe the changeability in the weather is one of the things I like about autumn.

It's hard not to like roses, Nina Hollander

I thought the same about the roses, Debbie Reynolds -- I had to take an up-close look to be sure they were real.

Hi Lottie - the rose doorway is certainly beautiful.  I am so glad that you are getting needed rain.

We celebrated the rain on Sunday by walking about 3 hours - across Pac Heights, Presidio Heights, the Presidio to Immigrant Point -- then down to Fillmore for lunch! We were drenched but happy - and these roses made the day even more enjoyable!

Lottie

Those are really stunning and bring that attractive doorway to life. I love having the roses year round here.

Please send us some of that rain!!

Hello Jeff Dowler - glad you enjoyed the rose arch. Wish I could send rain, but I'm looking at crystal clear skies and bright sunshine - nary a cloud in sight.

This weekend, perhaps!
