Living the San Francisco Dream

I love where I live - northeast part of San Francisco

I love where I live!

from Ft. Mason

Five years ago my husband and I were ready for a life change. We left the nearby Peninsula town where I lived for 40 years and moved to San Francisco. This wasn't a hasty decision, and we gave a lot of thought to where in San Francisco is the right spot for us.

Each neighborhood in The City has its own unique characteristics. We chose one in the northeast quadrant of San Francisco, the area near Russian Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Telegraph Hill, the Embarcadero, Fort Mason, Davies Symphony Hall, the Opera House, Union Square and the financial district.

All of these areas are within 1.3 miles from our home, great for walking (our favorite activity), taking Muni or grabbing an Uber.

This area also has the weather we like (much less fog than by the ocean), 2 branch libraries as well as the main library, a number of parks, and views of the bay and Marin County beyond.

We have discovered that this is a friendly City, it doesn't take long to get to know the merchants and get involved in local neighborhood groups. And if you are a dog owner, you'll soon get to know many people at the local parks.

Here there's a sense of excitement, of promise, of life; of the unexpected waiting to be discovered.

Overlooking The City

Is it time for you to make the move? I'm ready to help.

Lottie, what wonderful photos you use to show off your beautiful city. I especially love the view from the swing

Very few people will resist living in SF. It is probably one of the most picturesque cities to live and enjoy life.

Sorry I am not going to make to the meetup.

Cheers,

Sam Shueh

Lottie,  That was a big move.  I know from reading your posts how much you and your husband love living in the City ... and how much you enjoy all that it has to offer.

You have a great way with words, Alexandra. I do feel like I'm blooming here in San Francisco  Ron and Alexandra Seigel

Hi Patricia Kennedy and Sharon Lee - I really like that swing picture, too. A friend and I often took evening hikes through various neighborhoods - one evening we hit Goat Hill, and there she is, swinging over the city!

It really didn't feel like a big move, Kathleen Daniels - we had planned it for a while and were ready.

Hi Sam Shueh - San Francisco is right for me at this point in life. We'll try another Meet Up a different time that might be more convenient to people.

Lottie Kendall - It's amazing how many people you can get to know just walking your dog. Got more business from walking Carmel Beach over the years!

True, Hella M. Rothwell, Broker/Realtor® - I should borrow a dog on a regular basis, right?

Good morning, Laura Allen, Lake Tahoe - Truckee Real Estate for Sale www.TahoeLauraLuxuryHomes.com - you also live in a gorgeous spot. We'll be in Meeks Bay for a few days next week--it's time for some hiking at Tahoe. What are the chances we can grab a cup of coffee in Tahoe City some morning? Or share happy hour some afternoon?

Hi Wanda Kubat-Nerdin and Wayne and Jean Marie Zuhl - I really should re-do that video, but I'm glad it expressed to you why we moved here and why we enjoy living here as much as we do.

Lottie:

You picked a great city in which to live.  San Francisco is a world class city,  One of those cities which everyone loves.

Lottie, what a great job you did and I LOVED hearing your video!  Anyone moving to the area has to know how much of the SF area you've walked and that you did SO much research on the area before you actually made the move.  I love it!
