Living the San Francisco Dream

Jacaranda on Jackson, Pacific Heights

This evening, while my husband fixed a simple dinner for us to enjoy while listening to the Warriors game (no TV at our place) I took a short walk to reach my daily goal of 10,000 steps.

I couldn't help but stop and enjoy this large Jacaranda tree in full bloom. (The house isn't bad either!) I tried to wait patiently for the wind along the ridge of Jackson in Pacific Heights to calm, but since I'm not a very patient person, I didn't succeed.

However you wind down this evening, I hope you find beauty to enjoy.

What a beautiful shot of the Jacaranda - they are one of my favorites in terms of their color. And that's a pretty magnificant backdrop. Our Jacarandas are about done blooming

Lottie Kendall - your love for nature mirrors mine! I've discovered, you can't fight Mother Nature and sometimes, the wind gives motion to still pictures you wouldn't consider if you were in charge of the wind. The photograph of the Jacaranda Trees are simply gorgeous!!! You did great!!!

Hi Jeff Dowler CRS - I'm sure Jacaranda trees flourish in San Diego. Bayside Peninsula cities (I'm thinking especially of San Carlos) are home to quite a few, but somehow they strike me a strange in San Francisco. The backdrop of this one is, indeed, lovely.

Hi, Laura Allen, Lake Tahoe - Truckee Real Estate for Sale www.TahoeLauraLuxuryHomes.com - sometime when you're down this way in June, keep your eyes out for them - quite spectacular, especially the color.

Please do go for a photo walk, Roy Kelley - I always look forward to your pics.

A short walk caps off the day nicely, Brian England . I always find something of interest to enjoy, even on the streets, like Jackson, that I walk on almost daily.

Well, Gita Bantwal - the American Heart Association suggests people walk 10,000 steps a day. My FitBit has turned me into something of a fanatic; that's my aim 6 of 7 days.

It's a lot of fun walking in Pacific Heights and other San Francisco neighborhoods, KRISTIE DESAUTELS - the architecture on many houses is stunning.

Hi Patricia Feager - it would be wonderful to capture the wind in a picture, and the smell of eucalyptus trees, or roses. Actually, some of Roy Kelley s flower pictures are so beautiful I almost can smell the roses.

I remember a while back, long before Fitbit, when I wore some stupid ass widget to try to do 5,000 steps. Not only did they double it, but every wrist in the country sports a Fitbit now. Except for me. I refuse to wear one, just out of non-conforming principle.

Also, thanks for the jacaranda tree. I did not know the name of this tree but I've often wondered. I've seen them in Sacramento.

Jacarandas are beautiful, aren't they Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents ? I'm sure Apple would rather see iWatches on every wrist - we'll see. Meanwhile, I'm having fun with my Fitbit.

Wonderful photo Lottie Kendall and agreed, the house is pretty amazing too! I remember seeing Jacaranda trees in the Bay Area, California when I was in grad school, but never new their name... Very beautiful!

Hello, Rene Fabre - these Jacaranda trees seem semi-tropical to me, so when I see them in San Francisco, I'm always impressed.

Good morning, Lou Ludwig - I suspect you have Jacaranda trees in Florida? They are one of the most showy trees around when in bloom.
