Our world is noisy -- telephones ring, cell phones beep and chime; there's an onslaught on information everywhere we turn. Living in San Francisco we had the additional challenge of traffic, construction noises, billboards.
Finding one's favorite quiet spot is essential to our well-being, and often that is served by being alone in nature, or it can be alone in a crowd. We can sit and still the mind for a bit; refresh ourselves; have time to think; to simply "BE."
Luckily, when living in San Francisco it's quite easy to find oases of peace. They are in every neighborhood, there to be enjoyed.
I'll share a few of my favorite attractions in San Francisco that are waiting for your discovery. Might one of these become your favorite?
Nob Hill - Come practice yoga on Tuesday evenings with 500-600 others! It's amazing how peaceful that can be. I always return home calm, centered, feeling happy and peaceful.
Russian Hill - find the little "street" known as Marion Way. This steeply sloped pathway tucked between two residential buildings, is beautifully and calming landscaped; you'll find a couple of small benches where you can sit and gaze out toward the bay. This is a favorite of mine when I have only a bit of time before heading off on a busy real estate day. Macondray Lane is another Russian Hill jewel.
On the slopes of famed Telegraph Hill, crowned by Coit Tower, lies little Jack Early Park. A staircase takes you up to a small deck, where sun, bay views and the barking of sea lions at Pier 39 soothes ones spirits.
