Living the San Francisco Dream

A San Francisco find - Café Europa

One of the many benefits of living in San Francisco is the diversity of cultures. When it comes to dining, it's all here.

Last night's evening walk took us about 3 miles from home, to enjoy Café Europa.

Cafe Europa, San FranciscoLocated in the Inner Richmond district on California Street between 4th and 5th Avenues, this simple, charming restaurant has been in operation for roughly 3 years. It specializes in Central and Eastern European food, serving some of the favorite dishes from Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Russia, etc.

True to the sign, the pork schnitzel was delicious, as good as I remember from a visit to Vienna. I tried the honey beer, but since I don't care for sweet drinks, once is enough for me. The beer selection was large and interesting--plenty to choose from on subsequent visits.

We enjoy neighborhood restaurants, and it was apparent that many of the diners lived nearby, and came often with their families.

We'll be back to enjoy other dishes, and appreciate the attentive but not intrusive service by the owners and staff.

--- Come for a visit; Stay for a lifetime!

Lottie,

This definitely defines the charm of San Francisco.  All those little neighborhood restaurants with a different slant on food is part of the joy of living there.  Have a great weekend.  A

While I occasionally enjoy the larger, better known restaurants (such as Green's) its the neighborhood cafés that I find most charming. Enjoy your weekend, A - Ron and Alexandra Seigel

Place sounds great, being from Germany I'd love to try it! Local family owned restaurants are the best.

Have a great weekend!

Will do, Lottie Kendall We would love to make trip west in the future.  Fortunately Erie has many ethnic festivals all summer.  This weekend is the Polish festival.

It's always nice to find a good local place to eat. You certainly find many great places in and around where you live.

I am envious of all the restaurants, shopping, and events that you are near even though I could not personally live there...  I'm just too much a country girl. But I sure may have to visit.  I also think it's awesome that you got your exercise along with your dinner..

Interestingly, Laura Allen, Lake Tahoe - Truckee Real Estate for Sale www.TahoeLauraLuxuryHomes.com  with the thousands of restaurants and cafes around town, one has to search out Eastern European eateries-they are here, but for the most part, not well known.
