Living the San Francisco Dream

Meet Pat, Pat's Cafe, North Beach, San Francisco

Sidewalk art at Pat's Cafe

I've written before about Pat's Cafe, and how much we enjoy eating there, but time flies and it's time for an update. Located at 2330 Taylor Street, between Chestnut and Francisco, this is where I go when a BLT calls me, or some sweet potato fries. Today I enjoyed the Spinach Special Sandwich (spinach, avocado, onions, melted Monterey Jack in pita bread ) - Yum!

This delightful cafe serves breakfast and lunch, and is favored by tourists and locals alike. The good food, easy-on-the-budge prices, the location nestled between North Beach and the northern waterfront, the friendliness of the staff, and the bright atmosphere make one feel at home from the first visit. The walls are decorated with art work by local artists depicting various San Francisco scenes, paintings, photographs, etc. Many of these are for sale, and make nice gifts for yourself or others, a memento of a special "find" in San Francisco.

Pat's Cafe, one art wall

Much of the special feeling here is a reflection of Pat, the owner of Pat's Cafe. Today I'd like to introduce you to Pat, who will tell you more about Pat's Cafe:

Sometime when you find yourself exploring our city, wend you way to Pat's Cafe - tell her Lottie sent you.

And should you be ready to find your own special place here, whether a full-time residence or a pied-a-terre, let me know and we'll get to work so you can start living your San Francisco dream.

--- Come for a visit; Stay for a lifetime!

It's always fun chatting with Pat, Debb Janes  and fun to do our little video with all the street noise in the back. I need to learn to add that closing slide -- so much to learn, so little time.

Thanks, @Toni!

Lou Ludwig - on your next visit......

We could have waited a few minutes to get a cable car passing by, Roger D. Mucci, but then it would have been extra noisy.

Larry Johnston - you'd enjoy Pat's Cafe - most everyone does

On your next visit here, Joe Petrowsky - stop in and Pat will welcome you.

I love these kinds of posts.. it makes San Francisco feel like a place that I could visit and find real people just like at home in Southeast Oklahoma.  I'm a spinach fan myself.. so your sandwich sounds devine!

Hi, Grant Schneider - San Francisco is full of great local stories and places like Pat's Cafe in North Beach. Keep her in mind on your next trip here.

Judi K Barrett - I think we'd both enjoy a visit to each other's home turf. You'd find plenty of great people and places here, as I'm sure I would in Idabel.

While big box businesses are are often sought out and courted by local governments, small local businesses are the life blood of local economies and Pat's looks like it is a wonderful example Lottie Kendall. BTW, you're getting really good at doing videos, this one was excellent!

Posted by Nancy Laswick, Your REALTOR® For The Valley Of The Sun (United Real Estate) about 4 years ago

Thanks for the kind words, Nancy Laswick - I enjoy doing these little video clips. San Francisco is different than many cities--big box stores are allowed only in a few areas; most of the neighborhoods are filled with small, mom-and-pop shops which results in a unque feel to each neighborhood.
