Real estate in San Francisco, on the Peninsula and in the Silicon Valley had no down-time this December. We're starting 2015 with at least as much activity with no let-up in sight.
It takes a lot of juggling to make all aspects of life fit into days and weeks that are so busy, but making it all fit is worth the effort.
Three weeks ago I set up a San Francisco city hike for friends from the Peninsula. Today was the day; no matter how busy I am with work, this was a non-negotiable appointment - I am the one with the trail knowledge, my friends were counting on me, and we were going!
By getting up a little before 5:00 AM, I managed to get 3-1/2 hours of work in before driving across town to meet the others at the Lands' End parking lot above the ruins of the old Sutro Baths.
We enjoyed great fellowship, fresh air, a grand hike along the Coastal Trail, (link takes you to an early blog post about the trail) through the gorgeous residential area of Seacliffe, to the long stretch of sand of Baker's Beach. Cutting inland at that point, we headed on city streets to Clement Street where we enjoyed delicious Thai food, then a mile or so walk back to our cars.
I returned home at 3:00 PM, refreshed, energized, and ready for work.
I'll stop soon for dinner, then I'll finish up with a couple more hours of work.
In all, I will have put in 8-9 hours on business today; I had 5 carefree hours hiking, laughing and eating with friends, sharing a bit of my life in San Francisco with them.
Everything that had to get done today, got done. Making it fit is the trick.
