Living the San Francisco Dream

Remembering all the Moms

Mother's Day - to me, this picture says it all - happiness, pride in their beautiful babies, friendship, looking forward to the future and all that life brings.

1945 women with their babies

Taken in early 1945, my mother, Charlotte Thurston, on the left with her first-born, my brother Dan. On the right is her sister-in-law, my Aunt Noramae Flaspohler, with her first child, my cousin Patricia.

Wishing everyone who loves their mother, or loves being a mother, or loves the mother of their children a happy day!

--- Come for a visit; Stay for a lifetime!

What a great old photo! Today I passed on the photo album with old photos to my daughter, she is now keeper of the family photos since she has two children.

Lottie, sure miss my mom, and wish we could celebrate Mother's Day every year.   She's been gone for 20 years.

Joan, 20 years is a long time; we don't stop missing our moms, do we? So many things we'd like to share.

Lottie,  Looking at photos of my mom, back in the day, I marvel at the clothing and hair styles.  All that aside, it's about the love of a Mother for her children. There is something so special and sacred about that.

....and the hats, Kathleen; as a little girl I used to love looking at/trying on my mother's large and elegant hats

Great photo and a wonderful shout out to all mothers everywhere.  It is good to live in the United States where you have a pretty good shot at seeing your kids grow up!

Don, when we count our blessings, we often overlook that one, which we consider basic, but it's not in many parts of the world. Thanks for reminding me to be grateful for that!
