Living the San Francisco Dream

Heat wave in San Francisco

Much of our San Francisco Bay Area is experiencing a heat wave. Temperature in Los Altos, in the heart of the Silicon Valley, was 93° at 5:00 PM, to the delight of some of my friends.

Here in San Francisco, we reveled in more moderate temperatures in the high 70s° . Now, at 8:00 PM, the thermometer across the street still reads 76°.

Just the evening to walk up to Whole Foods, then on to beautiful Lafayette Park, perched high on a knoll in Pacific Heights to enjoy a picnic overlooking the Spreckels Mansion and San Francisco Bay.

Picnic dinner at Lafayette Park

The setting sun, the warmth in the air, the sounds of children playing, enjoying the dogs frolicking with each other or walking sedately on leashes, seeing people enjoying their picnics, hearing laughter and seeing smiles -- all reminders of why this park is one of my favorite spots in which to relax, and why Living my San Francisco Dream is so perfect for me.

It might be for you, too!

Lottie,

Had a heat wave here also, good thing I was working in the cooler ocean breezes.

Amazing how temperate ocean breezes can make an area. Enjoy your weather!

Good morning, Lottie. We are experiencing a little cooler than normal temperatures for this time of the year. By Sunday things will get back up to being normal and temperatures are expected to be above normal the rest of next week.

We're not cooler than normal, we've been COLDER than normal for 4 months.

We don't appear to be able to get past 70.

These old bones want some 80s.

Perfect weather in the 70's Lottie, that's what I love best.  Not too hot, not too cold, just right.

Michael, you've been clobbered with weather this year--soon, though, it's bound to change and your garden will flourish.

Lenn, Tuesday was in the 80s in SF--very unusual--yesterday the high 70s--this morning I work to a beautiful band of thick, white fog in the middle of the bay, with clear skies over land. You never know what the weather will be here.

Roger, I'm with you - high 70s is perfect for just about anything I'd like to do.

Lottie, try to stay cool!    My client in Sonoma said it was HOT too.   We will be around 90 here over the weekend.

Luckily for us, San Francisco has a very temperate climate; if I want it warmer, I can drive toward Sonoma, or Pleasanton, or San Jose; if I want more fog and cooler, Pacifica is the answer. For me, this is just right! Enjoy your warm Cinco de Mayo festivities, Joan.

You do live in a beautiful area, Lottie. I love San Francisco.

Our warmer weather isn't quite here, yet. We've had a delayed spring, but that's OK. I know it's just around the corner.

When spring arrives in your area, Debbie, you'll enjoy it all the more after the wait.

Wow that is hot for your neck of the woods. It is hot here too, but that's expected. Hopefully things will cool down soon.

Enjoy the spring weather. We need to see some pictures of your flowers.

Posted by Roy Kelley (Realty Group Referrals) over 6 years ago

Yes, Jane, 2 days later and we're back to more typical temperatures in San Francisco. Fog creeping in during the night, lovely sunshine in the day, temperatures in the 70s. Happy!

Roy, next time I have time for a leisurely City walk, I take some flower pictures. They will be simple snapshots, not lovely ones like yours, though!

Lottie~ It's a great time of year. We're enjoying some warmer temps now too. Just wish the sun would stay out. It keeps hiding behind the clouds!

You were overdue for some lovely spring weather, Donna. I'm glad you're getting it.
