Living the San Francisco Dream

Showcasing a view from a San Francisco home

When I list a house for sale, helping to capture the feeling of the home is kept top of mind when I write ad copy, write blog posts about the property, when meeting with my professional photographers, and when I take pictures of my own.

My Samsung Galaxy SIII has a panorama feature which I've been playing with. Not only does it help me take better shots of interior rooms but it's excellent at capturing views. Take a look:

This first picture is a regular shot, cropped some at top & bottom only

view from condo on Jackson

Now take a look at the panorama, again cropped top and bottom only

Panorama from condo on Jackson

Now all of Russian Hill is included, as well as Mt. Tamalpais to the left and Angel Island in the center. While the view in reality is wider than this panorama shot, the panorama feature does a much better job of capturing the feel of the view.

If you're thinking of selling your home, put me to work to showcase the unique attributes of your property.

That's a neat feature on your phone, Lottie.  For leases I tend to take my own photos, and if there's a view I take a number and at different times of day. I use professional photographers when listing a home for sale.

Lottie - You do a great job is showing potential buyers why they would love to live at your listings!  That's why they sell so quickly!

Melanie, this panorama feature is handy before the professional photographer comes over.

Scott, I'm having fun getting better panorama shots. Hope my clients like it, too.

Thanks, Laura!

That's quite the view, Lottie!  I continue to be amazed at the quality of photos coming out of various cellphones these days!

Lottie  You said it all when you said "...capture the feeling of the home".  You serve your clients well.

Lottie, That view is lovely. It looks so familiar. I do understand my son's love of the City. It's not for me ... but I do get that it is for lots of people.  I need to play with my phone now too.

Myrl, cameras on our phones are quite amazing these days. I'm having fun with my panorama feature. I'm glad you like the view!

John, photos as well as words can capture the feeling of a place - like the penthouse condo on Russian Hill I previewed this morning, listed at a cool $5,995,000!

Kathleen, have fun playing with your phone, and share some of your tips, OK?

Lottie,

Your posts about your panorama camera are making me want to find some time to play with mine.  Nicely done.

Lottie, your panoramic views are great, and they do “capture the feel of the home”.

This is a great feature that I need to learn how to use. Thanks for your tip.

Wow much nicer picture Lottie!  I am going to be getting a new phone soon.  Was going to be going with the Samsung but have been hearing they have a lot of problems?  Do you with your phone?

Hi Ralph, I like the panoramic shots - keeps things interesting!

Roy, give it a try - I had to futz around a bit, but know I've got it down.

Give it a try, Joan -- kinda fun - think of the mountain views you could get!

Deborah, I like my phone; the only issue I've had with it is that once it changed all the icons/apps on my screens. Very annoying, but the fix was simple: I just hit the re-start button and all returned the way I had it. When things like that happen, I don't know if I inadvertently hit some odd sequence of buttons, or if the phone itself went goofy - but the fix was simple.

Lottie, when there is a fantastic view like this, it needs to be featured so the panoramic function on your camera or phone is really coming in handy.  Very nice!

Thanks, Silvia. Today was another sparkling, clear day with grand views. Of course, we're in dire need of rain, and I'd dearly love to take a panorama shot with water coursing down!
