Running Buddies - in fair weather and foul

Running buddies -- always appreciated, nice to have

Most days in California are dry and sunny, especially this year of drought. Lack of water and vegetation have brought our wildlife ever closer to populated areas. One recent mid-day run of mine was along the beautiful Sawyer Camp Trail in the hills along I-280 in San Mateo County. Here's a shot of that day's Running Buddies:

deer along the Sawyer Camp Trail

Today, however, we're all giddy with joy -- we had rain, and some nice amounts! Even the cold and wet couldn't detract from our happiness as we waited for our 5K Guadalupe River Run to begin. My Running Buddy today--my daughter, Susan.

When you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, one can play every day, rain or shine!

Lottie,

It is always nice finding a running buddy.  Although we hardly live in the "country" we do have deer on our lawn a lot.

Glad you got some rain, that's a real help.

Lottie-It is always more fun with a buddy. Great capture with the deer. Glad you got some much needed rain. We got lots of rain today and for more for about a week and a half.

Lottie, nice to have a walk/run buddy to keep the pace.  Glad to hear you got a bit of rain, sounds like you really need it!

Wayne and Jean Marie, deer are plentiful on the San Francisco peninsula but seeing them right along the heavily used Sawyer Camp Trail in the middle of the day was a bit unusual.

Robert, yesterday's rain was wonderful. Today is sunny and bright, without a cloud to be seen.

Sharon, I wish you could send some of that rain our way; we need a LOT more

Joan, yesterday's 5K was lots of fun, even in the rain and cold. Maybe especially because of the rain--sorely needed.

Lottie  Don't I get any credit at all for sending moisture that way?  It is always great to have a running buddy.  Charly, our Goldendoodle, is mine but she and I haven't run in 3 weeks because of the snow.

Do you "run" on your snowshoes, John?

Posted by Lottie Kendall, Helping make your real estate dreams a reality (Compass) over 5 years ago

Lottie  I've worn snowshoes twice and hated it both times.  Once was a blizzard back in '03 and the other was 2 weeks ago to do a market analysis for the bank.  I realized why I hate them...the sound of the cleats on hard snow sounds like finger nails on a chalkboard!

Ha! One of my first snowshoeing adventures saw me near the crest of the Sierra Nevadas; laboring my way to the top of the hill was great--but then I realized I'd be walking down also instead of zipping along on skis!!  Pretty much cured me!

Thanks for making us wish we were there. We have an icy day in Maryland.

That's what I heard from my sister-in-law. Be safe!

Lottie, those are some amazing running buddies... and very fleet of foot. Another beautiful part of the San Francisco lifestyle.
