Living the San Francisco Dream

San Francisco City Hall - have you stopped in to take a look?

San Francisco's City Hall is a grand edifice, with a most glorious rotunda. When is the last time you've ventured inside and taken a good look?

San Francisco City Hall

Since the building is usually closed on weekends and holidays, yesterday was our granddaughter's first opportunity to take a peek inside.

I think this picture captures well the wonder of the day. Do you spot this young girl peering down from the balcony at the wedding below? Dreams are made on days like these.

Lottie, thank you so much for sharing a tidbit of San Francisco and the little girl watching the wedding below.  Is that your granddaughter?

Yes, Mary, my granddaughter, Credense, spent yesterday with me. We enjoyed an afternoon checking out Christmas decorations, etc. We also watched 4 brief wedding ceremonies in this beautiful City Hall setting.

Lottie - It's been a few years since I was last in that building, but from your photos today, I'd have to agree with you, it's still spectacular and worth the trip inside!

Lottie,  The last time I visited my son there was a couple having their photo taken outside on the front steps of City Hall. Yes, dreams are made on days like that!

Very impressive building, I can imagine the interior is just as amazing. Have not seen it up close and personal, but next time we are there, we'll check it out.

Laura, it's stunningly beautiful, and as a working office, it is bursting with life. (I was a bit dismayed to see just how large the tax collector's office is, however. )

Hi C Team! The details inside are great, too. I wish I had taken a picture of a mailbox inside - next time!

Kathleen, as I drive up Van Ness Avenue (which is actually the back of City Hall) I often see event companies setting up/taking down equipment. When I sell my first 22-million dollar Pacific Heights mansion, I'll host a party here! LOL!

Joe, it's worth a stop if you're heading to the Asian Art Museum, the opera house, or Davies Symphony Hall. Or worth a stop on it's own.
