We're having a cold snap in the San Francisco Bay Area at present.
Last night temperatures in Marin, Alameda, San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties dipped into the 20s; tender garden plants needed to be covered and cars left outside overnight needed windshields scraped and defrosted before driving off this morning.
San Francisco, surrounded by water on three sides, is much more temperate; it chilled off to 39-degrees. At 9:00 this morning, the sun is out and shining brightly and the thermometer outside is reading 45-degrees, and should continue to rise.
This is the kind of day when it's a joy to take a relaxed lunch break, grab a sandwich or salad and head to one of the many pocket parks. Even parks at the top of hills have one side sheltered from wind, where the sun invites one to relax and linger a bit before returning to a busy day.
Wherever you are, whatever your weather, I hope you find your spot to relax and refresh today.
