Living the San Francisco Dream

Basking in the San Francisco Sun

We're having a cold snap in the San Francisco Bay Area at present.

Last night temperatures in Marin, Alameda, San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties dipped into the 20s; tender garden plants needed to be covered and cars left outside overnight needed windshields scraped and defrosted before driving off this morning.

San Francisco, surrounded by water on three sides, is much more temperate; it chilled off to 39-degrees. At 9:00 this morning, the sun is out and shining brightly and the thermometer outside is reading 45-degrees, and should continue to rise.

This is the kind of day when it's a joy to take a relaxed lunch break, grab a sandwich or salad and head to one of the many pocket parks. Even parks at the top of hills have one side sheltered from wind, where the sun invites one to relax and linger a bit before returning to a busy day.

Walton Park, Financial District, SF

Wherever you are, whatever your weather, I hope you find your spot to relax and refresh today.

Our outdoor temp showed 28 degrees at about 6AM this morning.  I'm enjoying the feel of winter though so I can't complain.

Good afternoon, Lottie.  Yesterday, and even this morning the temperatures were quite mild. But alas, the front has moved through and temperatures are beginning to plummet.

We had a very mild day in Montgomery County, Maryland. However, rain is expected on Friday.

Enjoy every moment of good weather.

I live in the SF area for 4 years and never remembered it even close to being that cold, but then we were well below zero this morning and only got up to the high single digits today in Park City so that really doesn't sound that bad at all to be honest.

Bryan, a friend told me it was 22-degrees in Gilroy yesterday.

Stay warm and dry, Michael and Roy! Rain headed this way tomorrow

Scott--no it's not bad and I'm not complaining. Our weather is one reason we pay a bundle for our small houses--we can go outside and play year round.
