Living the San Francisco Dream

No space for a garden in San Francisco? Get creative!

San Francisco has wonderful styles of architecture and some great living spaces. However, in a city of such a small size, finding room for a garden can be challenging.

Sometimes, one just has to be creative, like the owner of this house on Octavia Street in the Pacific Heights-Cow Hollow area of town. Go vertical!

Vertical gardening in San Francisco

Not only is this easy-care garden pleasing to the eye, and adds a decorative touch to the entry, the back garden, which likely is quite small, can be put to other gardening uses.

Being creative can result in works of beauty!

Hi Lottie, very creative idea by this homeowner and nice catch by you.  Where there is a will there is usually a way.

That's what I thought, Jim. Necessity is the mother of invention, right?

Scott, this isn't the only vertical garden I've spotted while out walking, but it still remains my favorite.

Sharon, at some point I'll post more pictures of some of the creative gardening ideas I've spotted here in the midst of the City.
