Living the San Francisco Dream

Don't Forget to Vote in San Francisco - 11/5/13 is voting day

Voting Day in San Francisco

Municipal Election Tuesday, November 5, 2013

City Hall, San Francisco

Assuming that you are registered to vote in next week's election, you'll find polls are open on Tuesday 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

If you are concerned that a busy schedule will make it difficult to get to the polls, there are other options available for you: Early voting, in person, is available at City Hall. Look for the Department of Elections in City Hall, Room 48. You'll find it off Grove Street:

  • on Sunday 11/3, 10:00AM-4:00PM
  • Monday, 11/4, 8:00AM-5:00PM

If you have an Absentee Ballot, it is too late to mail it in since it needs to be received by 11/5/13. However, you have additional choices:

  • Drop off your ballot with Elections Officials stationed at City Hall entrances. This service is new this year, and available Sunday 11/3, 10:00-4:00; Monday 11/4, 8:00-5:00; Tuesday 11/5 7:00AM-8:00PM
  • Drop off your ballot at ANY San Francisco polling place on election day before 8:00PM

Take time to let your voice be heard.

Good morning, Lottie. I do have to agree that voting is an important part of the American process. Sadly though, not too many people participate. I hope that there is a great turn out.

Lottie - Excellent reminder to not only vote on Tuesday, but to make sure you know the issues for Tuesday's Election!

Hi Michael - I expect voter turnout will not be high. This municipal election is quite mundane for San Francisco; only 1 issue has any interest for residents this year. But, that makes each person's vote all the more important.

Laura, often the ballots in the City are very long, with many complex and diverse propositions on which to vote. This year there are two that demand thought and study, both having to do with the height varience for the same proposed project along the waterfront.
