San Francisco Neighborhoods, Upper Polk St. - Blinds & Designs, Inc.

The Upper Polk Street Neighborhood of San Francisco is a bustling area with shops of all types.

Located one block east of Van Ness Avenue, near the base of Russian and Nob hills, you'll find a real neighborhood, with a variety of stores to meet your needs. These are not the chains you'll find at a mall but unique-to-San Francisco stores, full of character, owned by and staffed with friendly people who greet you with a smile and make you feel at home.

Blinds and Designs, Polk St., San FranciscoOne of the first shops I discovered when moving here is Blinds & Designs, and what a fortunate discovery that proved to be. They carry the Hunter-Douglas blinds I was looking for to finish my home office, and offered to make an appointment for a free in-home consultation so I could be certain I was getting the right amount of opaqueness and the color I'd be happy with. They measured, ordered and installed - all went perfectly.

Lottie,

I like how you wrote this from your personal experience.  It is fun to read when a localism post is written that way.  Wishing you a great week.  A

You're really good at getting the owner of these shops to pose for you.  I am a bit too embarassed to have to ask if I could take a photo of them in their establishment.

Thanks, Alexandra. I've discovered I really enjoy writing these posts.

Jennifer, try it! The response I've gotten has been amazing--I make instant friends, and what a fun way to let people know what I do. Or maybe this is just a San Francisco response--as you know, people are friendly here.
