San Francsico Neighborhood Parks - Tennis Anyone?

Tennis Anyone?

Sterling Park, Russian Hill, SFOne of the delights for most San Franciscans, myself included, are the many neighborhood parks. Scattered throughout the city, they come in all shapes and sizes, from tiny knoll-top areas, to sprawling parklands like Golden Gate Park and The Presidio, both of which encompass many, many arces of land.

Tennis courts at Sterling Park, Russian Hill, SF

Many of the parks have found space for tennis courts, like these Alice Marble Tennis Courts at Sterling Park on Russian Hill. At the top of this modest-size neighborhood park you'll find 4 tennis courts, plus a basketball court with a backboard handy for practicing tennis solo.

Sterling Park is bordered by Larkin, Greenwich, Lombard and Hyde Street and offers stunning views of the bay and the Golden Gate bridge. Enjoy your tennis game in this spectacular setting, then step to the corner of Lombard and Hyde, and you'll see numerous tourists taking snapshots of the curvy part of Lombard Street, and enjoy watching and hearing the cable cars cling-clanging their way over the hills.

Very cool!  I think my son has played on those courts!

How fun, Dagny! Some of the tennis courts in our local parks have fantastic settings! Makes me wish I played tennis!

I have actually played on the courts in Golden Gate Park, SFTC and here!  Thanks for the memories!
