Bay Area Bike Share - popular in San Francisco

Bay Area Bike Share is here, and joins over 200 other cities like London, Paris, Barcelona, New York City, Boston and Washington DC. Launched near the end of August, 2013, it has met much success, especially in San Francisco where plans are already in the works to expand. The regional system started with 700 bikes at 70 stations in 5 cities: San Francisco, Redwood City, Palo Alto, Mountain View and San Jose.

Bay Area Bike Share bikes

Bay Area Bike Share is designed for short-term bicycle use, like errand running or commuting to work, with stations connecting users to transit, businesses and other destinations.  The membership-based service offers 1-day, 3-day or annual memberships, with unlimited trips of 30 minutes or less available during the membership period. Charges incur for trips lasting longer than 30 minutes, and cyclists wishing longer rides are encouraged to use traditional bike rental sources.

Bay Area Bike Share stations in SF

As might be expected, most of the stations are located in San Francisco, clustered around the financial district, the waterfront, Civic Center, and the urban South of Market areas.

Are you Living your San Francisco Dream and have an errand to run? Try a bike!
